Matthew C. Slaney, CFA
President & Portfolio Manager

Mr. Slaney manages client portfolios and analyzes equity and fixed income securities covering a broad selection of industries. He joined the firm in 1999 and has worked in the investment industry since 1992. Prior to joining FinArc, Mr. Slaney was a Municipal Bond Research Associate for Colonial Management Associates.

Mr. Slaney received his MBA from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College and his BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University’s honors program. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and passed the Series 65 exam for investment adviser representatives.

Mr. Slaney is a member of CFA Institute and The Boston Security Analysts Society. He is also a member of Exit Planning Exchange and Boston College Club.

John Choe
Security Analyst

Mr. Choe is responsible for analyzing and recommending action on stocks in the following industries: hardware, software, telecommunications, basic materials, and consumer goods and services. Formerly, he has held research analyst positions at Liberty Mutual Group Asset Management, Inc. and State Street Global Advisors.

Mr. Choe received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and his BS in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also passed the Series 65 exam for investment adviser representatives.

Paul O’Keeffe
Client Service Liaison

Mr. O’Keeffe brings extensive experience to our team having held senior positions in financial services at Wells Fargo, Deutsche Financial Services, and AT&T Capital Corporation.

Mr. O’Keeffe received his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and his BA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Patricia Weller
Client Service Liaison

Ms. Weller has a wide range of financial experience including positions as the Director of Investor Relations and Fund Manager of Polaroid Corporation’s pension and profit-sharing plan. She was previously a senior auditor with Arthur Young & Co.

Ms. Weller is a CPA and holds a BS in Accounting from Bentley University.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board, which meets quarterly, gives FinArc access to its members' technical and industry knowledge to help us grow as a firm. The board offers guidance on how to improve the experience of our existing clients and expand our offerings to new ones.

Catherine Friend White founded FinArc, LLC in 1990 and managed portfolios until she sold her interest in the firm during 2013. Ms. White was formerly employed by International Heritage as a Portfolio Manager/Analyst of the Growth and Income Portfolio, an open-end mutual fund. Prior to that Ms. White worked for Hellman, Jordan Management Company, and the Pioneer Group, Inc. She received her MBA with a concentration in finance from the F.W.Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and her BA from Dickinson College. She has received multiple Certificates of Achievement from CFA Institute for continuing professional accreditation.

Ms. White is a member of CFA Institute, The Boston Security Analysts Society, and the Boston Club. She is Chair of the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College. She previously served on the board of directors of BostonFed Bancorp, Inc. and its two subsidiary banks, Boston Federal Savings Bank and Broadway National Bank.

David Potter has served in senior general management and market development roles for divisions of Fortune 100 companies as well as early stage healthcare technology and services companies. He co-founded two companies based upon technology “spun out” from leading research universities that were subsequently sold to private equity firms. Mr. Potter is currently Vice president of Client Management for The Business Strategy Group, LLC, Needham MA and Chicago, IL. BSG www.bizstrategygroup.com provides strategic guidance, tactical operating support, and access to growth capital for promising young technology ventures. Mr. Potter received his Master of Business Administration degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Paul Teplitz was a Senior Partner of Cambridge Research Institute where he led the financial services practice. Teplitz has written numerous articles and has given presentations on financial services and consumer product forecasting. He received his Doctor of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School and a Masters in Management from MIT.  Research Boston Corporation, of which Teplitz is President, has advised on marketing, strategy, and forecasting since 1986.
